Streamn Dad

My Story

I started livestreaming my kids' games in 2022. It began with the simplest setup possible: a phone, an old tripod, and a cheap camera mount (less than $10 USD). That first season taught me quickly that phone quality matters—especially in rinks with weak Wi‑Fi. I upgraded to a better phone with a stronger camera and faster service.

After streaming two kids' games for most of a year, I wanted more reach and control. I invested in a zoom-capable camera, which meant I needed a laptop and streaming software to keep the stream running. Then came an external microphone to capture rink‑side audio. That is the setup I use today, and I am still experimenting to make the experience better for everyone watching.

It has been a lot of fun, and I have learned a ton along the way. This site is where I share those lessons so others can learn, try it themselves, and help their own teams and families stay connected. Thanks for visiting.
